I moved to the Stephens City, VA area from "upstate" New York several years ago to be closer to family. Because I have a lifetime of training in clinical social work, and I enjoy helping people become the person they want to be, I reopened my office here.

I have nearly 50 years of experience in various aspects of the mental health field from child welfare, to adolescent inpatient, to marriage and family and now trauma recovery.

Together the client and I chart a treatment plan that supports the client in using their strengths and my knowledge to achieve their goals. The client and I determine what best answers their needs. Since one size (treatment modality) does not fit all, we choose the modality that seems to best answer the client's needs. Eclectic treatment modalities include developing awareness and understanding of situations and relationships, self-understanding and awareness of behavior choices, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Polyvagal Systems Theory. EMDR is also available. These treatment modalities inform my work. I work closely with a medication provider when medication is indicated.

My focus is helping you to use your strengths with the support of my experience, training and knowledge to construct a path to assist you in meeting your goals. My practice is a collaborative one in which you set the pace and goals.
